An easy decision

Gorgeous Getaways has an excellent reputation and I found the most information regarding the whole procedure from pre-surgery, to the stay in Malaysia, to the recovery process on their website. I could make an informed decision before even having to talk to the staff.

Though once I've put my application through, everyone was so helpful with my questions and anxieties.  I was pretty calm leading up to the holiday and surgery. I decided I was going to enjoy it and not let the pain affect our honeymoon too much.

I only told my mum and two best friends about the surgery before I left. Now
most people know about my BA but only close friends know about the lipo after coming home.

We had a slight hiccup. On arrival at KLIA, no porter met us. We hadn't been booked in, but after asking at the desk, they reassured us that they would fix it and not to worry.

Calm and at ease

I saw the Dr Heng the next day.  He was fantastic, I already knew a lot about the surgeries, but my husband didn't.  So he went through everything with us, we asked questions whenever we needed to, he also showed us slide shows on the computer as he talked.  Dr Heng and his staff all spoke excellent English.

The hospital was a little way out of town which made it difficult for my husband to visit me.  But all the nurses at the hospital were very professional and took great care of me.  Faith and Jayne were great, all the Gorgeous Getaways staff were lovely and helpful.

I was very relaxed with the whole thing; I didn't really get nervous at all. Just before the surgery, I started to get a little nervous but I had a joke with my anesthetist and that helped calm me.

I only stayed in hospital one night, but I was given the option of staying another night for no extra charge if I wanted to stay. I didn't like the hospital food and found it hard to sleep so I was happy to go home after one night.

I was in much more pain than I expected to be, so it took me several days to start walking around. I'm so lucky my husband was so supportive, he helped me sit up, sit down, get dressed, everything!!!

I was in a lot of pain most of the time as the painkillers didn't really work on me, I tried several different types but they didn't help much at all.  I took arnica tablets for the bruising and I had a lot of comments on how little I had bruised. I still felt pretty battered and bruised though.

I really enjoyed some facials and reflexology while I was recovering - a great way to relax.  Shopping was also a good thing to do.  In my second week, 8 days after surgery I slipped over and busted open one of my breast.  I had to go back to Dr Heng to make sure I was ok, but it turned out all good.

I also had my foot run over by a car when we were shopping at BB plaza. It hurt but luckily no long term damage.  I think we were both a little relieved to be going home, though Lanson Place was wonderful and the staff so friendly.

I was very nervous about the flights back home though, and I ended up being very sore by the time we did get home, 24 hours later.

Confidence soar
I'm feeling good, still a little sore and I still have some swelling in my back.  But I'm very happy with how my body looks, especially my tummy - no more rolls.  I have had several comments on how I look healthier.  I feel confident to start my new job and look good in my new office clothes.

My personal tips

Take someone you trust to help you through it with you.  I couldn't have done it alone.  Remember you will most likely spend most of your first week, maybe more hanging around the hotel.  If I went again, I would definitely stay an extra week so I would have time to sightsee, it wasn't until the last couple of days that I actually felt up to doing anything and we ran out of time.

I really enjoyed my stay.  Gorgeous Getaways was great, the doctor's were great, and Lanson was great!  I would recommend Gorgeous Getaways to anyone who wanted to have plastic surgery.
