A new beginning

In 2008, I lost 55kgs and I came across Gorgeous Getaways via my partner. She was considering Breast Augmentation and I went along to a Melbourne get together as her support person. The more the evening went along, the more I realized that this could help me with my excess skin due to the weight

loss.

The sharing of a holiday with my partner was an awesome idea as we travel overseas each year. The difference this year was it came with a twist - surgery. Now we wouldn't just have a memory of a holiday, we would have life-lasting improvements to our bodies, minds and well being. All the better.

I hated the fact I had "Man Boobs" and a "Spare Tyre" round my waist. I'd put up with being overweight, enduring constant teasing and embarrassment for over 20 years. I went from being an active outgoing watersports kid to being so ashamed of the way I looked I no longer participated in any water activities and I never ever uncovered in public.

All I wanted was to feel normal again like I did as a kid, feeling comfortable in my own skin. After the get together I could see it all happening. My partner, after all her research, felt confident with Gorgeous Getaways and she wanted to go ahead with her Breast Augmentation and was in the process of getting her quotes when I surprised her and asked her to get some quotes for myself.

Upon landing, it was hot and humid. A welcome sight was Mr Lim standing at the airport door waving a card with our names. Dr Nasir seemed professional but I felt it was a little quick during my initial consultation.

On the morning of my surgery, I consulted with Dr Nasir again and confirmed his confidence in achieving the outcome I was expecting. The Prince Court Medical Centre is an amazing 7 star. The staff were very helpful except when it come to helping me with washing/showering. I let Gorgeous Getaways know and they investigated it immediately. Meetings with the hospital and Dr Nasir were arranged to make sure that never happened again to male patients.

The respect and pull Gorgeous Getaways have within the hospital is amazing. I spent 4 days in hospital. I was uncomfortable from the surgery but not sore or in pain.

Getting back in sync

I was up walking 18 hours after my op. I took arnica, a multi vitamin and zinc plus prior and after the op. I had minimal bruising. I found the heat and humidity uncomfortable so I stayed indoors with air conditioning - in the hotel and shopping centres.

We stayed for 3 weeks as at the end of 2 weeks we were not well enough to fly home. That third week made all the difference; the flight home was easy.

Achieving the impossible

I am now able to wear the "Standard Truckie Uniform" - A shearers blue singlet! I have never worn one in public without a shirt over the top. I'm not getting comments like 'Hey, big fella' and my female friends are not saying that my boobs are bigger than theirs anymore.

Overall, it's been an awesome outcome from the surgery, my confidence in myself has skyrocketed and after my initial doubts of my post op body shape following the op, 5 weeks down the track, it's everything I expected and never thought possible.

Don't spend to much time outside of air con as the humidity knocks you about.
